In this dual experience of geographic dance, the artist flips over her sculpture while upholding the object’s Nordic origin captured in a pixelated digital print. In delivering this sense of dislocation at 190 Bourke Street pop-up gallery, the artwork traces migration as a precarious and performative transition where material forms and digitized memories swiftly adjust in a new environment, to shape shifting from the origin story. Chinese visual artist Wei Weng moved from Copenhagen to Melbourne in 2023. Leave No Trace is from her ongoing research series Labyrinth.
